Umpire: Alan Nash

The first term was marred by a sickening head clash between K Lippiatt and K Martin that saw both players stunned for some time. Mornington had the better early form mainly due to Ward who was outstanding. In the second term the tigers came back hard with good system, but several shots were missed, Mornington regained the lead just on half time. It was anybody's game at this stage until Bell dominating in the ruck took over and he gave the tri colours a distinct advantage in the third were a six goal to one took the game away from Seaford. Although Seaford did better with a strengthening breeze the damage was done as Mornignton with every man giving a fine exhibition after half time and deserved the pennant. A cloud burst could not dampen the supporters spirits as Kel Lippiatt, Mornignton's coach was carried shoulder high off the ground.
