Looking for redemption after Pines embarrassed us in our first meeting the boys jumped out of the gates and were dominating inside 50's and took a 4.3 to 3.0 lead into quarter time. From there the next 2 quarters were an arm wrestle with Pines holding onto a 20 point lead going into the last quarter. Again we were wasteful into our forward 50 and shooting at goal having the same amount of scoring shots as Pines. The last quarter was disappointing eventually going down by 9 goals. Warrick Miller and Emilio Bitters continued their fantastic season, while Josh Halsall had his best game for the season. A big improvement from our first game but still a lot of work to do.

Playing against one of the top teams is something we should all look forward too, to see how far we have come This season but unfortunately is was not a good day for the twos as we struggled most of the day and was out played for most of the game . We must all regroup put the weekend behind us and be ready to take on YCW this week, a team that we played really well against in the first round.

Another challenging day for our opponent as the Pines had 14 boys available to play. In the spirit of the game 4 of our boys took the option to fill in and we had a game.
After a slow start our game clicked into gear and we were able to hold Pines at arms length. Some good signs from a few of the boys who have been working hard on different elements of their game and persistence is starting to pay off.
We look forward to the challenge of taking on YCW on the rebound and are fully aware that we need to bring effort for the full 80 minutes.

A GRADE
A grade score an unequivocal 38 point win over Pines on the weekend. Tess Cooper came out blazing through the mid-court, not allowing her player to really get into the match. During the second term Jess Gordon and Candace Page virtually shut down the goaling for Pines with their relentless defensive pressure. Georgia Hunter showed her on court leadership with a best on court performance.

B GRADE
The B grade girls had an emphatic win against Pines on the weekend. Monica Watkins was brilliant through the mid court and managed to provide some comical entertainment in the process. Carli Rickman was awe inspiring in defence, literally taking intercepts and tips to Eliza Tatham relentlessly throughout the match. Katey Rudolph also had a sensational game in goals to help build an insurmountable 35 point winning margin.

C GRADE
C grade found their mojo again beating pines 54-11.Although we missed quite a few goals, we were pulling in plenty of rebounds. Demi and Jacqui are combining so well in goals and they were on fire working together and frustrating their very physical defenders. Meg, as usual had a ripper game, working well with both Sarah and Emily who played her first game with the C team.
Bridget, Mel and Lara rotated through the centre court nailing every position between them.
My best ons were Demi for a second week, our youngest player and once our most easily intimidated player, well not anymore great strong game under plenty of pressure & Meg who gives everything she has.

D GRADE
D grade had a ripper game this week pushing themselves into 2nd on the ladder!! with a 29-6 win against Pines. This team just gets better every week. With full attendance at training giving everything they have, showing passion and drive to learn, they reap the benefits out on court on a Saturday. My best ons this week were Emily for a strong game coming back after injury and transitioning from goals into a solid defender, also playing C grade.
Ruby who is improving each week, becoming very versatile in all centre court positions.
