Back at home against Seaford and the senior side was looking for redemption after a poor showing against Pines. Slow out of the blocks, Seaford were 7 goals up at the first break and things didn’t look good. After quarter time the boys started playing as a team and cut the margin to 10 points at one stage. Seaford hit back finishing the game strong to run out winners in the end but signs were there that the boys could be competitive against anyone in the competition if we can string 4 quarters together. Mick McGowan is having a real crack at the moment and Emilio Bitters tried his guts out all day. Hopefully a win is just around the corner.

After a week off we played against Seaford at the kennel, big day for the reserves to get the ledger back to 3and 3 against a top 5 team and with the first quarter on the way the boys were up and about and playing real pressure footy and by half time there was only a goal in it. With the second half on its way Seaford kicked away with a 4 goal lead going into the last quarter ,but to the boys credit they kept on fighting to the end. With a serious injury to our captain we as a team must stand up and carry the load that has been left with Sammy
Being out for the rest of the year but I know we have the players to do so. Go Dogs

Another great day for footy greeted us for our clash with Seaford at home. Over the past couple of years there has been nothing in it between the two teams and almost to script this game proved to be more of the same.
Our endeavour was brilliant from start and in a match where we knew that contested ball was key, that was important. All of our measurable were at least matching our opponents however some simple skill errors under fatigue late in the game cost us the win. All in all a great game of footy that we all took something away from.

The Bulldog A grade girls looked impressive from the outset with Brittany Archdeacon scoring prolifically of the back of some great defensive pressure from Georgia Hunter. Challenged for height again in GK, Jess Gordon fought relentlessly and did well to restrict the impact of her gaoler. Tess Cooper was an important inclusion coming on in the second term, combining strongly with Sarah Williams who had an impressive game in goals. But it was Candace Page that stepped things up a notch for her side, relentless in defence and driving the ball consistently into attack. The scores were level going into the last term and despite their valiant efforts the team lost by the narrowest of margins.

B grade welcomed back from injury Katey Rudolph and Monica Watkins who have both been sidelined for several weeks. Katey made an impact straight away with accurate goaling whilst Chris Anthony was making an impact through the mid-court. Holly Newton was impressive in goals coming off the bench in the second term to allow her side a four goal lead going into the main break. Monica Watkins was strong throughout the match as was Laura Noonan with her defensive pressure through the midcourt. The side let Seaford back into the game during the third term and despite a best on court effort from Sophie Baker in defence the side couldn’t turn the tide, going down by 3 goals.

C grade had a convincing win against Seaford this week 32 - 24. Our goalers are still needing to work on accuracy with 32 missed goals between the 3 but defensively the team, as a unit were able to apply an awesome amount of pressure turning the ball over constantly. Welcome back to Leah who had her first game with the team, coming back from injury. My best on this week is Meg. Another ripper game, always playing hard. The girls are improving and growing in strength every week. We have far from peaked so watch this space.

D grade.....killed it this week, beating Seaford 47-16. Our goalers still need to polish up their accuracy missing a total of 23 goals between the 3. They all worked hard and the pressure was put on Seaford immediately, resulting in turnover after turnover. It was a pleasure coaching these girls today and if they keep the intensity up, great things will come !!
My best on was the team today. It was 100% from 10 girls, the way it should be.
