Season Structure Changes

OFFICAL LEAGUE POSITION STATEMENT – MPNFL 2021 SEASON
AFL South East (AFLSE) met with Mornington Peninsula Nepean Football League (MPNFL) club presidents last night to review the impact of the lockdown on the remainder of the 2021 season. Based on the latest advice from the State Government, we are hopeful of a return to competition on the weekend of June 19th/20th, subject to the further easing of restrictions.
All clubs were represented at the meeting with various options presented for consideration. Summary of the outcomes as voted by the clubs are detailed below:

DIVISION 1 - SENIORS, NETBALL, RESERVES & UNDER 19s
· Fixture to remain as originally scheduled.
· Rounds 8 & 9 to be abandoned with no Premiership Points awarded
· Games scheduled on June 12, will be played on June 19 (subject to further easing of restrictions).
· Abandoned rounds will remain in the fixture for historical reference.
· The Finals schedule will remain unchanged (Grand Final scheduled for the weekend of 11th/12th September)

DIVISION 2 - SENIOR, NETBALL, RESERVES
· Rounds 9 & 10 will replace existing rounds 17 & 18 resulting in all clubs playing each other at least once. The remaining fixture remains as originally fixtured.
· Division 2 U19’s fixture to be re-worked to maximise the number of games played.
· The Finals schedule will remain unchanged

Any future rounds impacted by COVID-19 that may be abandoned will not be rescheduled.
